Mombasa's
tusks are the best-known landmark of this city, an awesome tourist attraction in Mombasa. The Mombasa “Tusks” are
symbolic representations of the entrance into the heart of the town. They are
huge tusk-shaped arches made of aluminum and spell the letter M for Mombasa.
Apparently they were built to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's visit to the city
in 1952.
