THE BIGGEST EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF SPORT

Do you want to know the ideal place to be on May 2nd 2015?  The biggest event in the history of sport has attracted fans from all over the world and we are eagerly waiting to see the two most marketable mainstream stars of recent times battle it out for unified welterweight championship on May 2nd 2015 at Las Vegas MGM grand Garden Arena.  The showdown is assumed to be the richest in boxing history.  As they will be exchanging punches and throws, it will be a defining moment for these two best fighters in the world and their fans too because we will eventually get to know the king of the era. So, if you need to travel, plan early enough.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have officially signed and agreed to battle it out on May 2nd 2015.  The announcement was made by Mayweather via his account on the shots.com.  I quote, “I am glad my decision to meet with Manny and discuss making this fight happen helped get the deal done,” he said.  On the other hand, this is what Manny Pacquiao had to say; “I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight they have wanted for so many years” “They have waited long enough and they deserve it”

The fight contract entitles Mayweather to a 60% of the purse expected to be $120m. The fight is expected to earn around $400m in revenue.   The networks resulting will come together to produce and distribute a joint pay per view telecast, which is expected to cost a record high $89.95 (and probably $10 more for high definition).

The referee is expected to earn $10,000 and the leading candidates are Kenny Bayles and Tony Weeks.
Pacquiao has won 57 of his 64 matches and his is worth $120m while Mayweather has won all of his 47 fights and he is worth $280million.

Pacquiao’s trainer (Freddie Roach) has previously pleaded for a referee who will provide a fair fight for both boxers.  Mayweather trainer, Ronnie Shields believes Mayweather will win despite him having bad hands for several years. He even says that he will put his money on him because Mayweather knows how to keep his perfect record wheile Pacquiao has already tested defeat.  He also adds that Mayweather knows how to impress the judges.

Having won every all his 47 fights Mayweatehr is confident that he will win against Pacquiao; as he was quoted saying, “Mannny is going to try to do what 47 before him failed to do” but he won’t be successful, he will be no.48”.

Do you know what their motivation is? According to Mayweather it is definitely money but Pacquiao says his motivation is his people;  he said that, as long as people from his country show their smiles and feel happy then he doesn’t mind the heart aches.  As to who is being honest, I leave that to you to decide.

Tickets will range from $1500 to $7500; the sale date is yet to be announced.  Mayweather’s most expensive ticket fight rematch against Marcos Maidana was $1500.  This is a 16800 seat arena. According to Forbes.com less than 200 tickets have been listed for prices ranging from $4100 for a seat in section 201 to $33000 for an exclusive floor seat.

I know as a boxing fan you are eagerly waiting for this fight of the century, as the two champions wait to exchange throws and punches on May 2nd 2015.  Who is your favorite fighter between the two? Without being biased, who do you think will win the fight?  Mayweather may have won all his 47 fights, but on the other hand do you think Pacquiao is an easy opponent?
