places to go for camping in Nairobi. The
warm temperature and great landscapes have made it a great camping

Nairobi Tented Camp

Nairobi
Tented Camp is located at Nairobi National Park. Nairobi National Park is approximately 8km
from the Nyayo Stadium Round about. To
visit the site using public means; Board
Matatu No.15 at Bus Station (BS) near Afya Centre, or Matatu No.125, 126 from Railways
Station.

Oloolua Nature Trail
There
is a cave, a papyrus swamp further down the river and a secure campsite
complete with tap water, drop toilets, and firewood for lighting a bonfire but
you will have to bring your own tent, food and cooking utensils though. There
is also is a 20-foot waterfall close to the forest entrance.
Locating
Oloolua Nature Trail
Oloolua Nature Trail is located
in Karen. For those who would like to visit the site using public means; board Matatu No.24 at Railways Bus Terminus
or at Kencom House bus terminus and alight at the junction of Bogani
Road and Karen Road near Karen Blixen Museum.
Oloolua Nature Trail is 600 meters to your left.
When to Visit
The
Nature Trail can be visited any day from 9a.m to 6p.m
Entry Requirements
There
is a fee charged for one to enter, the fee is varied on whether one is a
citizen, student or Resident. The fee is also charged depending on whether
people are going to camp, Team building, or other activities such as church,
commercial, meetings, parties e.t.c
Wildebeest Campsite
It
is Nairobi’s great permanent tented camp.
It has peaceful tropical gardens with a variety of plants and birds, it
is close to shops, markets, banks and transport links. You can use your own tent or hire one from
the site.

Wildebeest Campsite is located
along Mokoyeti Road, Langata. If using
public means board Matatu No.15 from Central Bus Station near Afya Centre.
When to Visit
The
campsite can be visited any day from 9a.m to 6p.m
Entry Requirements
Price
is for the camping pitch and there is an additional cost in case you are using
their tent and beddings. Facilities
include: restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
Paradise Lost
It
has this ancient caves eroded by the waters of Gichi River and a spectacular
waterfall. The activities at the site
include; boat riding, fishing on the small lake, Ostrich feeding, Horse riding,
camel riding, camping, taking a walk on
nature trails.

Lost is Located off Kiambu Road just after the Evergreen Centre. For those who would like to visit the site
using public means, board matatu No.100 from opposite St Peter Claviers
Catholic church or near OTC /Salvation Army areas

Requirements
Visitors
are required to pay an entrance fee. All
activities are included in the entrance fee except for the pony, boat riding,
horse riding, and camel riding.
It is advisable to avoid going
camping during a rainy season. Be sure
you know of the security of the place before you decide to go camping.
Whenever you choose to camp, make sure you are prepared for anything. While being close to nature is a camper's goal, one must not forget the safety is still paramount.
