The Village Market in Gigiri has an assortment of family activities. Therefore it is the ideal site for a family outing.

The activities include; Bowling, mini-golfing, football, pool tables, bouncing castles, water slides and children’s playing ground.

Maasai Ostrich Farm

Maasai Ostrich Farm in Nairobi is a great place where you can get up close and personal with ostriches.   The Resort surrounded by beautiful gardens has become a haven of peace for travel weary guests. 

It is an ideal spot for family outings, with a fully fledged swimming pool, tennis court and sauna.  The outside barbeque or locally known “Mbuni choma Ranch” area has become a great favorite with many guests with a specialty in Char-grilled Ostrich meat.

Location of Ostrich Farm

Ostrich Farm is located at Kitengela. When using public means; board matatu no.110 from the Nairobi railway station and once you arrive at Kitengela board a taxi to take you to Maasai Ostrich Farm. It is roughly 10km from Kitengela

Lukenya Getaway

It is a place created to provide an environment for intellectual work, rest and recreation for Non-Governmental Organizations, Corporate's, vacationers, campers, families and other groups.

Activities

A walk to watch wildlife, (early morning or late evening walks are advised), trekking at the Lukenya hills, rock climbing at Lukenya rock face, swimming, basket ball, darts, sand volley ball, indoor games

Giraffe Centre

This is a rare view of Rothschild giraffe at close quarters where you can hand-feed these elegant giants from the safety of a raised wooden platform.

Giraffe Centre is located in Langata, for those visiting the site using public means; board Matatu No.24 at Railways Bus Terminus or at Kencom House bus terminus

Uhuru Park

It’s one of the most attractive green spaces in the city.

It has expansive lawns, shade trees, and well tended gardens.  There is Boat riding on the artificial lake in the Park and Several foot bridges.  For Picnic lovers, Uhuru Park provides the ideal setting and also features some monuments.

The Park is situated on Uhuru Highway, across from Nairobi Intercontinental Hotel, bounded by Kenyatta Avenue to the North.

 

Entry Requirements

The Park is open for free to the public. The Nairobi City County, however, charges for boat rides, and for the use of toilet facilities in the Park.

Bomas of Kenya

The Bomas of Kenya consists of cultural attractions and also hosts daily shows and dances in the afternoons. 

Attractions

Apart from the cultural attractions, the Bomas of Kenya also has a children’s playground plus a restaurant and a bar.
