HOLIDAY DESTINATIONS IN NAIVASHA KENYA



Naivasha has increasingly become a favorite spot for holiday seekers both local and foreign. It is among the most sought after holiday destinations in Kenya.

Hell’s Gate National Park
Attractions
Hell’s Gate attractions include rock towers, flat plains and eroded gulley, hot springs. Hobley and Olkaria volcanoes are also located in the park. Plain games that are found there include buffalos, hartebeest, giraffe, zebras, eland, gazelles and some rare leopards, cheetah, lion etc.

The park offers camping facilities such as Oldubai campsite, Nairburta campsite as well as Endchata campsite. 
 
Location of Hell’s Gate Park
Hell’s Gate is located 5km south of Lake Naivasha, it is approximately 90km northwest Nairobi. 

Mt Longonot National Park
Attractions
Mt Longonot National Park attractions include: Volcano and crater forest, a view of Lake Naivasha, Mount Suswa, Mt. Eburru and the Great Rift Valley. There is wildlife too such as zebras, gazelle, antelopes, leopards, eland, buffalo, lion, and bushbucks among others. 
 
The Park also has camping facilities that include: Olongoonot campsite, Osutua Cottage and campsite etc.

There are various activities that can be undertaken at the Park including hiking on the mountain, bird watching, biking, wildlife watching etc.

Location
Mt Longonot National Park is located 90km from Nairobi enroute to Naivasha and close to Hell’s Gate National Park.

When to Visit Mt. Longonot National Park
Throughout the year.

Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake surrounded by flower farms and rich with bird life. 

Attractions
Lake Naivasha is home to a variety of wildlife with a sizeable population of hippos. There are two smaller lakes near the lake which are Lake Sonachi (a green crater lake) and Lake Oloiden.

Location
Lake Naivasha lies in the Great Rift Valley northwest of Nairobi. 

Lake Elementaita
Lake Elementaita is a paradise for bird watchers. 
 
Attractions
Attractions at Lake Elementaita include flamingos, great crested birds, great white pelicans etc.
