Located at the Rift Valley,
Nakuru has various tourist attractions and is accessible by road from Nairobi,
Nyeri, Kisumu, Eldoret.
Hyrax Hill Prehistoric Site and Museum
Discovered by
the Leakeys in 1926, the site is considered to be a major Neolithic and Iron
age site. The Museum was established in 1965 and is housed in a former
farmhouse ceded to the monument.

nature trail and the museum displays local ecology, archaeology, ethnographic
materials etc.

Lake Nakuru National Park
Attractions at
Lake Nakuru National Park include Lake Nakuru which is an alkaline lake with
wooded and bushy grasslands, wildlife such as white rhino, lions, leopards,
giraffes, hyenas, buffalo, wildebeest as well as several species of birds
including the flamingos.
There are also
view points at Lake Nakuru such as the Lion Hill, out of Africa and Baboon
cliff. The park has waterfalls also known as Malakia.
The Park can
also be used as a camping site as it offers facilities such as Flamingo Hill
tented camp and accommodation places including Lake Nakuru Lodge, Sarova Lion
Hill Lodge etc. It has self catering options such as KWS Naishi House.

Ol Donyo Eburru
It is the
highest peak of Mount Eburru, this attraction is part of the Eburru ecosystem
which spreads over Nakuru.
